The Alley specializes in Vegan and Gluten free cuisines with an emphasis on being delicious as well as nutritious. We make almost everything from scratch and focus on farm to table sourcing of our fresh produce from local farms. We provide bespoke catering to a variety of events and occasions including :

Our Story

Its time for a whole new plant based eating experience one that strives to be good for your body, your budget, your lifestyle and the planet. We get that plant based eating doesn't mean that you have to miss out on taste. Our flavorsome menu sees the comfort foods you love in ways you've never seen them before. The Alley is all about fast casual comfort food. Our 35-seat venue has an array of eat in as well as ‘grab and go’ options from signature burgers and salads to gluten-free pastas with an offering of guilt-free desserts, cold pressed juices and smoothies. A hot-spot for city workers and inner city dwellers, The Alley is the ideal venue for breakfast on the go or long lunches with a cheeky glass of craft beer or bio-dynamic raw wine.

VITAMINS & SUPERFOODS

Acai – Acai contains vitamins: A, B1, B2, B3, C & E. Minerals: Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium, Iron, Copper, Cobalt and Manganese. Research shows that acai berries are extremely high in anthocyanins. A form of plant antioxidants associate with the ability to lower cholesterol. 

Apple – Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber. The phytonutrients and antioxidants in apples may help reduce the risk of developing cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease.

Almonds – Almonds contain lots of healthy fats, fiber, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. The health benefits of almonds include lower blood sugar levels, reduced blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels. They can also reduce hunger and promote weight loss.

Avocado – Avocados are 85% fat; however, the fats contained in an avocado are nothing to be afraid of. Majority of these fats comes in the form of Phytosterols, which are anti-inflammatory and have many benefits for arthritis. In addition, avocados are rich in oleic acid, that helps the body create more HDL cholesterol, which in turn helps the bad LDL cholesterol to your liver so it can be broken down. 

Cacao – Cacao was used as currency in ancient times, and chocolate lovers around the world have long understood why. With one of the highest known Orac values of any known food. 

Celery – Celery is an excellent source of vitamin K and molybdenum. It is a very good source of folate, potassium, dietary fiber, manganese and pantothenic acid. Celery lowers cholesterol levels and arthritis pain, helps in weight loss, detoxifies the body, reduces high blood pressure, and promotes overall health.

Chia – Chia is a flowering plant in the mint family that grows native to South America. Chia seeds are a high protein food, rich in antioxidants and minerals like phosphorus. Manganese, calcium, potassium, zinc and sodium. Chia packs more omega 3 essentials fatty acid content than any other plant known. 

Coconut Oil – Coconut oil is high in natural saturated fats. Saturated fats not only increase the healthy cholesterol (known as HDL) in your body, but also help to convert the LDL “bad” cholesterol into good cholesterols.

Coconut Water – It is a delicious and refreshing low-calorie natural beverage. Tender coconut water contains more nutrients than mature coconut water. It's packed with antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C and minerals like iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese and zinc.

Cucumbers – Cucumbers belong to the same plant family as squash, pumpkin, and watermelon. Like watermelon, cucumbers are made up of mostly 95% water, which means eating them on a hot summer day can help you stay hydrated.

Goji Berries – Goji berries have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years. Some legends report that goji berries were eaten by monks in the Himalayan Mountains thousands of years ago and steeped in hot water to help aid meditation and obtain greater health, vitality, longevity, energy and stamina. Low in calories, fat-free, a good source of fiber and a high antioxidant food, goji berry benefits include the ability to help you fight disease, effectively manage your weight and experience better digestion. Usually eaten raw, dried, or in liquid or powder form, versatile goji berries contain a wide range of phytonutrients, vitamins and trace minerals, giving them the name “superfood berries” by many health experts.

Kale – Kale contains numerous amounts of vitamin K, Chlorophyll and Amino Acids. Kale is low in calorie, high in fiver and has zero fat. 

Macca – Maca, a root that belongs to the radish family, is most commonly available in powder form. Grown in the mountains of Peru, it has been called “Peruvian ginseng.” Maca’s benefits have been long valued, and has recently been popularized as a supplement and food ingredient. 

Macadamia Nut – Macadamias are a rich source of Vitamin A, iron, protein, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and folates. They also contain moderate amounts of zinc, copper, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium.

Oats – Oats are high in selenium, manganese and silicon – all which are key minerals for healthy skin, hair and nails. Oats are highly beneficial for those who are challenged with diabetes because they’re slow burning carbohydrate.
